This session discusses, the role the environment has on the person’s ability to participate actively in life as well as its impact on challenging situations, helping care partners recognize the role that visual, auditory, tactile, and temperature cues play in triggering both positive and less positive interactions, how modifying the physical environment can improve function, familiarity, and flexibility, social environmental factors that can be used to influence and modify behaviors, and the need to readjust and make changes to the environment as the condition progresses and the person’s abilities and interests change.
