Memory Care Center helps with Resident's Heart’s Desire Helicopter Tour

 

Marilyn, a resident at ProMedica Goerlich Memory Care Center, recently turned 90 years old and was surprised with an experience of a lifetime for her Heart’s Desire.

Marilyn has always loved adventures and doing thrilling activities such as white water rafting and riding in a hot air balloon, just to name a few. Her daughter, Rhonda, took her to lunch one day and they talked about what she would like to do for her 90th birthday. Marilyn stated she would like to ride in a helicopter after seeing a sign outside the restaurant about helicopter tours.

Rhonda and her husband Ed made plans to make Marilyn’s wish come true for her 90th birthday and booked a helicopter tour of Toledo, OH. The team wanted to help make Marilyn’s day special and got her an aviator jacket, scarf and hat to wear while in the air. The day came for Marilyn’s helicopter tour, Rhonda and Ed rode with Marilyn to experience this thrilling adventure with her. Marilyn loved every minute of the tour and seeing the beautiful fall colors and all the sights of Toledo.

When asked how she liked the helicopter ride, Marilyn stated, “I felt like I was dreaming!”
