Tracy Rosinski, regional veteran liaison with the Heartland Hospice agencies in Wisconsin, recently participated in the annual Operation Ruck 22. Operation Ruck 22 is an event where participants march 22 kilometers around Lake Monona carrying 22 pounds each to raise awareness for Veteran suicide. The significance of the number 22 is because, on average, there are 22 veterans who commit suicide every day. Operation Ruck 22 strives to bring that number to zero.
“I have never done anything of this magnitude and wanted to support Operation Ruck 22 and the mission,” Tracy stated. “I have lost a loved one from death by suicide and have friends who are at risk. Having participated in the Ruck was one way that I could raise awareness. The energy at the event was palpable and I am so happy to have been involved.”
